BLOOD
Today I made fake blood.
I thought that was a good way to start a livejournal entry.
I'm in this video making class solely b/c I want to learn how to use final cut pro before I graduate (and he gave us the tutorial today so...I guess I'm dropping?) but anyway this class is so dumb. She is so bad at giving assignments. She tells us to do something in a really vague way, doesn't tell us when to do it by, and then criticizes our work when we bring it in without anything constructive. I just kind of laughed at her last class. "your lighting is bad" OH THANKS THAT'S SO HELPFUL, UGH.
So anyway, our first assignment was to film one of our daily routines in both a narrative and non-narrative way (she didn't define either of these terms before the assignments were due, but I think we all did okay nonetheless). I misinterpreted the assignment and filmed TWO routines, one narrative and one non-narrative. THE SECOND assignment she gave us was to shoot 5 more shots that recontextualize the first assignment in some way. I had no idea what could recontextualize making breakfast/cleaning my room, so I decided to make fake blood.
The plan is that my breakfast is actually my victim, and the process of cleaning up my room is actually cleaning up the evidence, but we'll see how that works. THE REAL PLAN, of course, is that my *subtle clues* about my dissatisfaction with the class so far do not go unnoticed.
We'll see how good a director I am, I guess.
