omg
why didn't anyone tell me absinthe was made legal on December 26th?

I feel so good right now

we just went to a restaurant with a cocktail comprised almost entirely of alcohol with a shot of absinthe with it. This is not what I expected at all. This is like weed, without the paranoia, but also without the "omg rainbows are science" thought trains. It's totally mellow and amazing.

I feel so good right now

not to mention I had some amazing shrimp and the tenderest pork I ever laid lip on. This is just...ugh. I just had an amazing night.

No one to ruin it. And I straightened my hair and got food it in because I never wear it down. Oh well.

I feel so good right now.

yeah idk this is what wikipedia says:

A faux-absinthe liquor called Absente, made with southern wormwood (Artemisia abrotanum) instead of grande wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), is sold legally in the United States and does not contain Grande Wormwood. This was the first US approval referring to "absinthe" on the front label; the front label says "Absinthe Refined" but the US Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) classified the product as Liqueur.

In 2007 the laws prohibiting absinthe were relaxed and several brands of absinthe were legally approved for sale. These brands must pass TTB testing, which is performed by the Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry method[73] and TTB considers a product to be thujone-free if the FDA's test measures less than 10ppm (equal to 10mg/kg) thujone.[74] A US distillery also began producing and selling absinthe, the first US company to do so since 1912.

the stuff on the menu was just absente so maybe it is just the fake stuff :/

Hmmmm... I'm pretty tempted to go and try it anyway! If it made you feel like you say it did in the post, it should be worth a taste ;D

it was amazing, but I don't want to get your hopes up b/c a) I am kind of a lightweight lol and b) if I thought it was real absinthe instead of sissy absinthe it might have had some *placebo effects*

but yes, I highly recommend it
