lol update
I haven't updated in like over a week, and it's definitely not because I'm growing out of livejournal--I still spend most of my time here, but nothing interesting has been happening to me that warrants an update. Oh well. I'm bored so I'm updating.
The Oscars happened again this year. I missed the beginning because we were watching it at a friend's house and he decided to stop answering his phone 10 minutes before they started. </bitterness> They actually weren't awful, considering it was clear they were totally thrown together at the last minute. I felt so bad for Amy Adams during "Happy Working Song," but she actually kind of pulled it off. The speech the "Once" people gave was really sweet, and I think it was top-notch classy of John Stewart to let the girl come out and give her speech. The orchestra was being ridiculous with playing people off the stage. I mean, don't get me wrong, I get bored when people are reading lists with 1,425 names on them, but if they're being cute or whatever, just let them talk! How many times in a person's life are they going to get to stand up on a stage and say almost whatever they want with hundreds of millions of people watching?
Anyway, I was disappointed that "No Country" won over "There Will Be Blood," but it's better than if like, "Juno" won. So I'm not *that* disappointed. And the Coen brothers are hilariously detached from themselves which seems somehow very appropriate considering their movies. "Uh, thanks." lol priceless.
Other than that, I got sensationally drunk a few days ago and lost six hours of my life, and I realize now why that is so scary. Without the memory of that time, I feel like it was out of my control, like someone else inhabited my body for those hours and God knows what they did with it. But now that I think about it I realize that just because I can't remember doesn't mean it wasn't me. Apparently all I did was fall asleep in the bathtub (and of course my friends thought I was dead, which annoyed me to no end) but then I just went to bed, woke up at 4:00, texted my friends and asked me how much I embarrassed myself, waited for them to come home because they went out to a strip club again, hung out for a while, took a shower, then went to breakfast with them. And I got hungover. But only a little bit. I didn't puke or anything.
Okay I just spent way too much time on that. Nothing is really going on besides that. I'm still plowing through Lord of the Rings, I've been skipping Shakespeare b/c he doesn't take attendance and the only thing we're graded on is papers, and...yeah. That's about it.
